Amy Jade Winehouse, R.I.P. - You Are Missed

Very sadly, Amy Jade Winehouse passed away on July 23rd, 2011. She is and will be very much missed. She had won five grammy awards for her album Back to Black".

As her Goddaughter pointed out, much of what was written about her in the tabloids was untrue.

The Wikipedia entry at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Winehouse
is updating frequently and has much info.

The BBC News - Obituary: Amy Winehouse was posted 23 July 2011.

She is already and will continue to be the subject of many articles and tributes in memoriam from friends, family, fans, fellow musicians and writers around the world.

Though I believe the autopsy is not yet complete, the poor dear did have lung problems.

There is a nice photo of her at the official site
Amy Winehouse which I am taking the liberty of posting here:

There are 11 of her songs uploaded to AmyWinehouseVevo's Channel - YouTube as of this writing, including the music video
"Rehab".

I realize this post is unrelated to the theme of my blog, but I just felt a need to say something in the way of remembering her.

Amy, we will miss you. Rest in peace.

I initially learned of Amy Winehouse's passing via Tweets posted by by Nikki Bust of Bust Magazine on Facebook the afternoon of July 23rd and then read a post on After Ellen titled: "Amy Winehouse found dead at age 27". I discovered the Wikipedia entry at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Winehouse and the photo of her at the official site
Amy Winehouse via my initial Google search on Amy Winehouse.
Fashion Whore did a nice tribute post yesterday titled "In The End All We Really Have Is Memories... (RIP Amy Winehouse)". After reading and making my first comment on Fashion Whore's post I "Favorited" the YouTube video Fashion Whore had embedded, titlred "Amy Winehouse - Back To Black" and moved it to the top of my favorites list on my YouTube Channel. Chocolate Girl Wonder did a post titled "R.I.P.-Amy" The source of my information regarding a quote by Amy's Goddaughter was a People Magazine article Checking back after posting this article I noted that Laurie of Bust Magazine had posted an article titled "Amy Winehouse, Rest In Peace" using the same photo from Amy's website which I had also chosen to post in this article.
